Empowering the next generation of environmental sustainability leaders
The Young Eco-Stars Programme (YES-P) is a 8-week climate leadership and exchange program for 60 high school and university students from Indonesia, Nigeria, and the USA.
Overview
The Young Eco-Stars Programme (YES-P) combines virtual learning with cross-cultural exchange, interactive projects, and immersive field trips to foster a deep understanding of environmental issues.
YES-P aims to equip youth from around the world to confront the climate crisis and become proactive change agents for a brighter, sustainable future.
Programme components
01 -
Virtual Trainings
Over the course of 5 weeks, participants engage in a series of interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions focused on various aspects of climate science, environmental sustainability, and climate action strategies.
03 -
Sustainability Field Trips
Participants join local excursions to explore biodiversity and ecological conservation efforts in their local communities, deepening their understanding of environmental ecosystems and the importance of biodiversity conservation in climate action.
05 -
YES Alumni
Network
Upon completing the program, participants are conferred the title of Eco-Stars: leaders and advocates for climate action in their respective regions. Eco-Stars will join an alumni network and be given access to relevant opportunities for personal and professional development.
02 -
Capstone Projects
Through hands-on projects, participants create innovative solutions to pressing environmental issues in their communities. Participants will receive ongoing resources and mentorship to support their project design and implementation.
04 -
Global Cultural Expo
Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to practice their cross-cultural communication skills and build their cross-cultural knowledge by giving weekly presentations about their countries, cultures, and more.
