Josie is sparkling! She’s opened her own hairdressing shop, her children are flourishing (two-year-old Ben and one-year-old Joy), and Joy’s dad wants to adopt Ben. This is a far cry from the fearful, unemployed girl with a three-month-old son, who was desperate for an abortion.

Josie suffered when Ben cried for food and she had nothing to feed him. She could not bring another child into the world in this condition. That wasn’t the only problem she faced, either, so she believed abortion was her only option, even at the risk of hemorrhaging, which she was prone to do.

I talked with her about God’s love for her and her baby, fetal development, and abortion procedures. She cried. I prayed with her. She received Jesus’ love and left, giving me permission to call her. But whenever I called her, her phone went directly to voicemail. Had she gotten an abortion and died?

Two weeks later, she contacted me (she’d just found her phone—it had been lost). She had her first prenatal visit the following week. I was ecstatic! One more baby had a chance to fulfill her purpose, thanks to the Holy Spirit’s intervention through PRCJ.
